Generator Improvements: EPA Moves RCRA Hazardous Waste Training Standard
Under its Generator Improvements Rule, which is now final and takes effect in May 2017, US EPA is re-organizing certain parts of the requirements for hazardous waste generators in 40 CFR. Among the many, many changes to the hazardous waste generator rules is the relocation of the RCRA training standards.

EPA Proposes to Ban TCE for Certain Uses Under TSCA
US EPA has proposed a rule to “prohibit the manufacture, processing, and distribution in commerce of Trichloroethylene (TCE)” for certain uses. The proposed TCE ban is EPA’s first such action under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) as revised by the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act.

Latest on OSHA's New Injury and Illness Reporting Final Rule
In order to obtain more information about workplace injuries and illness, OSHA would like to require establishments with more than 250 employees that are already keeping OSH 300 logs to submit copies of their 300 and 301 forms each year.

Hazardous Waste Export/Import Requirements Amended
The long-awaited Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements Rule wasn’t the only Final Rule EPA posted to the Federal Register last week. In addition to that major re-work of the RCRA hazardous waste rules, EPA posted a Final Rule to amend the export/import requirements for transboundary shipments of hazardous waste.

DOT PHMSA Readies New Lithium Battery Air Rules
In a report of significant hazmat rulemakings currently in the works, the US DOT Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) lists a rule that would make major changes to the 49 CFR hazmat rules for lithium battery air shippers.
